Legoland!

For months before we even arrived in San Diego, Josiah has been excited at the prospect of visiting Legoland, a big Lego amusement theme park. Before leaving the country, the Gaileys sweetly gave us two freebie tickets they had on hand, plus we had a coupon for one free kid's ticket with a paying adult, so we were incredibly thankful to get our entire family in for the price of a single adult admission (which alone still was nearly $80!!).

We spent an entire day there, and it didn't disappoint. While we were still in the parking lot, Josiah was already enamored with the Lego creations.

Inside, there are Lego masterpieces every way you turn. They're in water features, coming up from underground, hanging overhead, and on the walkways.

Can you spot what the lion ate for lunch?

The boys were patient while waiting in line for rides (a couple times we waited upwards of half an hour). William *just* squeaked into the rides at 36 inches tall, his little noggin barely hitting the measuring line at each entrance. That kid loves amusement rides, by the way! We went on a small roller coaster, and he was beside himself with adrenaline, screaming and pumping his little fists...and pushing away protective parental arms that were trying to wrap around him on the scary/fast parts. When we got off the roller coaster, he was running and jumping up the walkways, clearly on quite the high from the event. He's definitely our dare-devil. So funny!

(I wish I had photos of the kids on the rides, but pretty much every single one required an adult companion per child, so Jesse and I always rode with a kid apiece—with the camera mandatorily tucked away.)

Jesse loved the rides too. I could hardly get him out of this Lego copter:

Okay, okay, so Josiah was in there too. :)

Josiah driving a car. It was kind of a free-for-all out there, which stressed Josiah out. He spent the entire wait in line asking me for driving lessons so he'd stay on the correct side of the road, follow the traffic signals, etc.  Clearly he's NOT our dare-devil (and I understand him SO much better than I understand William!)

Josiah said this Star Wars shot is for Micah:

The huge slide. William collapsed on his back every time but was dying with laughter (he's not hurt).

Josiah really enjoyed this Lego Fun Town show.

My favorite parts were the replica cities and monuments of the world. They were vast and flat-out amazing. Alas, my camera batteries gave out right at this point, about three-quarters of the way through our day.

Ok....so first I thought that Seaworld was the coolest, then I was envious of the whale watching on a sailboat, now Legoland??? I'm not sure what to choose? Zach asked why Josiah gets to go to all these cool places and he doesn't! :)
