9 days to go: not to be outdone...

Dear Jesse,

Hooray for single digits in the countdown!

I have a treat for you again. Not to be outdone by his brother, William has worked to memorize the little sing-song "Une poule sur un mur" rhyme that they've been doing in his class. I've had to brace myself for practice with him because he's a wee bit explosive in moments of frustration. Likewise, for the sake of honesty and transparency I probably should have kept the outtakes of tonight's first recording attempt. Picture wild thrashing on the couch and a toppled end table!

But...behold the cuteness that we obtained eventually. Working at French is far more stressful and anger-inducing for William than it is for Josiah, so it makes me especially proud to see him overcoming the difficulties and foreignness of everything. My favorite part of the little video is his smile at the end when he realizes he's done it this time. I think you'll wear a similarly proud smile when you watch. Enjoy!!

William you did such a fabulous job with your little poem. Nannan and Papa are SOOOOOOOO proud of how hard you worked to learn the french words and then to say it for everyone to see. I expect you'll know even more stuff when we see you at Christmas - you'll have to tell us what all your french words mean!

William Henry! I love this! I finally got to watch it last night when I got internet access back. I'm so proud of you learning this. I can't wait to get back to hear you do it in person. See you soon! Love you!
